Signs the Democratic Convention Could be a Boon – for the GOP

RomneyFLThere’s been some reluctant mention by the mainstream media of the large crowds showing up to greet Romney and Ryan along the campaign trail. Massive amounts of supporters have been turning out to greet the GOP Presidential hopeful in Jacksonville, FL and Cincinnati, OH. Enough to have many speculating that the Obama admin is shaking in their designer shoes.

One could imagine that for liberals, the Democratic Convention could not come fast enough. Alas, they will have their opportunity to put in front of the American electorate their biggest and brightest, in an effort to make their best case. Or will they?

By most accounts, it looks as if the DNC plans to double down on their manufactured ‘war on women.’ Having speakers such as Sandra Fluke of ‘gimmie free contraception fame’ and Nancy Keenan of Pro Choice America, to name just a few.

It remains to be seen how well these speakers will resonate with anyone outside of their base. Polling consistently has shown that the economy and jobs is at the heart of the matter for the vast majority of Americans. But, shhhh… don’t tell them that.

Perhaps this out of touch approach to manipulate the national conversation instead of addressing the one that actually exists is why Obama is losing his appeal. So much so, that it looks like the DNC was having a hard time filling the enormous stadium where their Presidential rock star is to take the stage in North Carolina.

So what do you do when you can’t fill a venue? “Bus them in,” says a Democrat official. According to Reuters, that’s exactly what they are planning on doing. Of course the ‘smoke and mirror’ admin is spinning this to look as though tickets are going fast, and why wouldn’t they be when the purchase price is… free!

The following comments have been taken from the Dunwoody Patch Georgia. The Patch staff posted the news for free tickets that could be gotten from Manuel’s Tavern or Bibb County Democratic Headquarters...

And the comments went on and on. The whole fiasco can pretty much be summed up like this:

Tickets to the Democratic Convention: Free!

Glass of House Chardonnay at Manuel’s: $4.75

Reading the Responses to the free tickets at Manuel’s: PRICELESS

That being said, it's probably not wise to get too giddy over things like this. Although the apparent lack of enthusiasm on the Democratic side does strike a chord with something Romeny said during the Republican Convention...

“Tonight I’d ask a simple question: If you felt that excitement when you voted for Barack Obama, shouldn’t you feel that way now that he’s President Obama? You know there’s something wrong… when the best felling you had, was the day you voted for him.”

And so it is. I guess all we can do for now is take our Pepto Bismol and try and stomach the Democratic Convention as best we can.

However, signs say, it might be more entertaining than we think.
