ALOHA, ALL!! I’m sure most of you are languishing over the SCOTUS ruling on Obamacare today. I’m not. In fact, I’ve told hubby that I wish the Supreme Court would uphold it. You think I’ve lost my mind or been smoking the pakalolo that Barry fancied (likely still does)? No. Consider this:
- Polls show that Obamacare is wildly unpopular: Obamacare: 0-98 Those who were on the fence about whether to vote for Obama or Romney in November now have a clear choice. Romney will repeal Obamacare. We know what Barry will do as well.
- The left had been ramping up an anti-SCOTUS narrative about how the Court was too “extreme” (i.e. in their minds too right-wing.) With Chief Justice John Roberts being the deciding factor in upholding Obamacare, that narrative is toast. Gone. History. Bye Bye.
- By looking unbiased and not desiring to interfere with the decision of elected officials, Roberts shows sanity. Those voters who were on the fence about Obama v. Romney can now contrast the legal expertise and dedication of a true conservative on the Court (Roberts) against a true liberal on the Court (Ginsburg.) Just like the above point, this removes the Obama campaign narrative that Justices appointed by Republican presidents are extreme. Therefore, re-electing Obama to appoint more mainstream Justices is moot. (Yes, people WILL contrast Roberts & Ginsburg. One is brilliant the other is a moon bat.) Ruth Bader Ginsburg to Egyptians: I Wouldn’t Use US Constitution As A Model
- By declaring that Obamacare is indeed a tax (and not applicable under The Commerce Clause) it shows even more how the American people were lied to and bamboozled by Obama, Pelosi and their ilk. Let’s look back to what Obama said in 2009: (Click Below to Read Rest of the Post)

Barry – you are certainly entitled to your opinion. Time will tell if Roberts’ decision results in more or less freedom. It is now up to the people – not the legislative, judicial or executive branches of government – to abolish Obamacare and its gargantuan tax increase by voting Obama out of office and electing GOP majorities in both Houses of Congress. Oh yeah….if Obama and the Dems insist on saying it’s not a tax, then it’s unconstitutional. They MUST call it a tax or face that reality. Period.
There is no burden so great as that which is not carried. Roberts did nothing of the sort by "handing " anything back to “us” His job is to make certain that the other two branches do not overstep their bounds and if un- Constitutional, kill it. If people keep trying to make rational, the irrational, this is what we end up with. He is not to be trusted again. If you really believe what you say, the we have NO NEED for a “Supreme” Court if the adherence to THE document is passed over. Roberts should have announced with his decision the dissolution of the court and been done with the charade. Yes we are ALL responsible to do our jobs and he did not do his irrespective of “us” not doing ours.
John Roberts is not Brilliant, he is unstable and on medication that clouds his thought processes. He is to be admonished and impeached for his attention to “his court” and the appearance of how the Supreme court “looks” to others, rather than upholding and adhering to the Constitution, which he was sworn to do. There is no compromise when it comes to the Constitution. What is allowed or what is not should never be based on “popular” opinion,as that will change like the seasons, but steadfast adherence to principles laid out by those who knew the importance of the rule and law will never sway out of favor. To re-write a law to suit his convoluted and bad logic is astonishing.. There is no game to be played here. He is wrong and must never be trusted.
Thank you, Theresa! Let’s hope Romney and the GOP pick this up and run with it (pun also intended.) The focus now needs to be not only getting Romney in the White House but GOP control of the House and Senate.
Great post Gilia! As I sat at my desk yesterday focusing on my work, my mind found it hard to concentrate for the first couple hours after the ruling. I purposely tried to ignore the urge to let this upset me, even though most of the conservative experts, ie: Mark Levin gave me good reason to believe otherwise. After digesting this, I come to the same conclusion as you. What Justice Roberts has done, like it or not, is give the conservatives two sound and tangible items to focus on: TAXES and LIES by the current President and Co. It is my hope that this comes back to bite Obama in the END (pun intended).
Of all the ‘experts’ out there, I don’t recall hearing much at all noted about this being read as a ‘tax’. Go figure! You were right on!

Thank you, DiAnne! We need to come together and work this to our benefit. Remember….never let a good crisis go to waste. It’s time to use the left’s tactics against them, and WIN!
While I was initially shocked by the ruling, I did what every responsible voter should do…research. After having done my research, I agree with you Gilia! Whether by intention or by accident, Justice Roberts put the “burden” back where it belongs…on voter’s shoulders. You will never hear me malign his opinion. Obama may think he has won, but, in the spirit of cliche…he may have won the battle but not the war. It will be interesting as we move forward. Having spent 40+ years in sales, the very important thing that I know is this…perception is everyone’s reality and, as stated, this is a TAX! Rock on, Gilia!
