College Smart Girls

Smart Girl on Campus Mission

SGC will reach out into our local communities to ENGAGE more conservative women and get them actively involved in political dialogue. We will provide the opportunity and environment to facilitate the exchanging of ideas on a local, state, and national level.

SGC will give women who have never been involved in politics the information they need to join the political conversation. We will EDUCATE women to understand the basic political party structure and how they can get involved in their local community.

SGC will build a community of activists who EMPOWER one another to stand up for their conservative beliefs. SGC will provide a safe environment for our members to share, discuss, and debate issues and campaigns without fear of retribution, attack, or belittlement.

Start a Chapter

1. Five (5) classmates who want to spread the conservative views of Smart Girl Politics and who are willing to serve as your chapters first executive board. The executive board will consist of President, Vice-President, Secretary, Member Chair and Recruitment Chair.

2. Choose a faculty member to serve as advisor to the chapter. This will be someone who will be a good mentor and who shares the same conservative beliefs as group members.

3.Compose a mission statement and a draft of group constitution outlining policies, election procedures and member duties.

4. Fill out the Group Application Form (Link). Email us at {oncampus (at) sgpaction (dot) com} and let us know that you submitted an application.

5. Apply for official group recognition from campus. Once approved by SGP, the Campus Coordinator will help you form an email unique to your group, along with a Twitter and Facebook page for potential and current members.

Smart Girl Politics Action is an online conservative women's organization which strives to engage, educate, and empower women to take a more active role in the political world.  An internship with SGP will present students with opportunities to work and interact with women from a variety of backgrounds across the country. Our interns will gain experience in advocacy, community relations, marketing, new media and many other aspects of a nonprofit organization.  Working with Smart Girl Politics Action will give students an insider’s view into the worlds of politics and non-profit management, and experience to add to their resume before they begin a job search. SGP Action internships are available year-round, and we will work with students  to receive course credit for their internship.

Intern Responsibilities

Students must be self-starters with good communication skills.  Interns must be have time management skills and the ability to work independently and take initiative. The majority of our program is internet based which allows us the opportunity to work with students from around the country.  Interns are required to work an average of 20 hours per week.  The actual hours worked are somewhat flexible in nature.

Interns are responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of our organization. Responsibilities will be divided between daily administrative support and larger projects such as: event planning, fundraising, legislative and political research, drafting articles for our website, and other projects.
