After graduating from the University of Alabama, Marcia worked in the banking and mortgage lending industries for 18 years and she most recently worked part-time from home as a medical transcriptionist. She joined SGP in May 2009 in the hopes of connecting with other conservative women and soon learned that she had more than a casual interest in politics. She has previously served as the Assistant Southeast Regional Coordinator, a welcoming committee member for our Ning site, and first point of contact for our Smart Girl Nation e-zine writers.
In addition to her involvement and promotion of SGP in the River Region area, she is a member of the Montgomery County Republican Executive Committee, member of the Precinct Committee, Secretary of the Capitol City Republican Women, and board member at large of the Montgomery County Republican Club.
Marcia currently writes a monthly opinion piece to promote conservative activism for a small local newspaper and she also reports on the activities of the Alabama Legislature while in session. She and her husband spend their free time on their farm in Grady, AL and they also enjoy traveling to their mountain retreat on Lookout Mountain.
